I"m really thankful for this great experience of being an exchange student here in Santiago de Chile. The University is not very different to the University in Holland. The only problem I"m facing is the language. It is quite difficult for me to study in Spanish, but the professors are very helpful and understanding. The USACH offers also many electives. I choosed, swimming, which I like a lot. The thing, which I didn"t like, is that it is not possible at the USACH to take Spanish curses. There are many exchange students, which have problems with the language, but there are no curses offered. The other think is this problem with the pass for the metro system (to get a reduction in the ticket being student). It is a lot bureaucracy and it takes forever. We are at the end of the semester and still didn"t receive the pass...But all these are only small problems. In general I"m very happy here and enjoy my time. I love to travel and I have visit now places I have never even dreamed of visiting them, for example Patagonia, Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires. Chile and South-America has many beautiful places with interesting new cultures and friendly people. There is a lot to explore.
